Fico d'India belongs to my archive of completed creations and bears witness to a formal exploration. A new project is redesigned around the person, the proportions of the hand, the selected gemstones, the metal, the intended use and the meaning of the gift. In my workshop in Altamura I personally oversee every inspection, so that organic form, comfort and visual presence achieve a personal balance.
The project starts from Opal Nopal, a creation already present in my archive, chosen by the client as a reference for its organic language and the relationship between opal, colour and structure. I reworked that direction through new proportions, combinations and manufacturing possibilities, building a ring intended to celebrate the arrival of a baby girl. The initial reference thus became an autonomous composition.
I developed the creation in 18-carat rose gold with Ethiopian opal, natural yellow diamonds and natural citrine. 3D modelling and prototyping made it possible to verify dimensions, heights and thicknesses prior to lost-wax casting. The pavé and flush settings articulate the different luminous areas, whilst polishing and quality control complete a complex structure, designed to maintain continuity and wearability.
