Zaffiro Classico belongs to my archive of completed works and shows how a previous creation can guide a new path without being repeated. Each ring is redesigned considering the gemstone, the proportions of the hand, the materials, the height, the intended use and the wearability.
In my workshop in Altamura I personally oversee every stage, so that the initial reference becomes an independent solution that is in harmony with the person who will wear it.
The project was born by observing Classic Emerald, a creation in my archive, used as an initial reference and not as a form to be repeated. The choice of the blue sapphire, carefully evaluated for hue and size, required a redesign of the structure.
I therefore redesigned the relationship between the centre stone, diamonds, claws and shank, so that every element was consistent with the actual characteristics of the selected gemstone.
I developed Zaffiro Classico through 3D modelling and prototyping, verifying the relationship between the central gemstone, luminous halo, height and thickness. After the lost-wax casting of the 18-carat white gold, the natural sapphire and the diamonds were claw-set.
Polishing sharpens the transitions between the head and stem, while quality control checks the finishes, stability and structural consistency.
Every review reflects a real commission: the initial consultation, the listening process, the definition of the project, the anticipation and the moment the finished piece becomes part of the client’s life.
