The creation

Octagonal emerald is a white gold ring with natural emerald e natural diamonds, built around the geometry of the centre stone. The luminous halo follows the rectangular profile and enhances its presence without interrupting its lines.

The clean shank complements the ring head, while the contrast between the deep green of the gemstone, the light metal and the points of light creates a neat and decisive balance on the hand.

We design your ring around the gemstone

This creation can inspire a new bespoke ring, developed around your chosen gemstone, hand and wearability needs.

I personally oversee every single step, from gemstone selection to prototype testing and the final quality check, including online.

Personalised jewellery

Octagonal emerald belongs to my archive of completed works and documents a project built around a specific gemstone and the client's requests. It is not a shape to be reproduced identically: every new ring is redesigned taking into account the stone, hand anatomy, proportions, heights, materials, and intended use.

In my workshop in Altamura I personally oversee every phase, turning the initial brief into a personal and technically sound solution.

From inspiration to design

Inspiration

The client found the initial reference in my Creations gallery to imagine a ring different from those already commercially available. After selecting the natural emerald together, I developed an independent structure based on her actual proportions, studying the relationship between the octagonal cut, diamonds, prongs and basket.

The prototype made it possible to check the height, thicknesses and overall presence directly on the hand prior to final production.

Materials and finishes

I designed the ring using 3D modelling and prototyping, adapting every structure to the shape of the natural octagonal-cut emerald. After lost-wax casting in 18-carat white gold, the emerald and natural diamonds were assembled using claw setting. The polishing enhances the continuity between the shank and the basket, while the quality control checks the finishes, structural stability and consistency between the design and the finished piece.

Certifications and registrations

Technical expertise, professional registrations and qualifications have accompanied the development of my work in the goldsmithing and jewellery field.

Awards and recognition

Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.

How is a piece of jewellery born?

A piece of jewellery can be inspired by a specific request or by a story worth cherishing. It is Custom when it starts with a shape, a stone, a material or a style to be crafted to measure. It becomes narrative When transforming a memory, symbol or personal passage into substance, proportion and meaning. Wedding rings, rings, pendants, necklaces and bracelets can follow both paths. In the Jewellery section, you can discover which one best suits your idea.

Do you want to start from a creation like this?

A carefully chosen gemstone requires a setting designed around its true characteristics. In my Altamura studio, we will evaluate shape, proportions, materials and wearability together.

The initial meeting is to clarify desires, materials, structure, timelines, and feasibility. It doesn't require an immediate decision.
