The initial meeting serves to understand what you wish to make visible and what you prefer to leave solely within the meaning of the piece of jewellery.
In brackets belongs to my archive of past creations and holds a personal meaning that cannot simply be transferred into another form. A new project is redesigned taking into account the person, the proportions of the hand, the gemstones, the metal, the intended use and what one wishes to cherish. In my workshop in Altamura I personally oversee every stage, ensuring that construction and intention remain consistent.
The project stems from a moment experienced by the client with her partner, referred to simply by the words “(in brackets)”. The precise meaning has deliberately remained private and I have no reason to turn it into a story other than the one entrusted to the jewel. I therefore worked on the relationship between the ruby, opposing curves and proportions, allowing the form to guard that memory without making it explicit to the observer.
3D modelling and prototyping made it possible to control heights, thicknesses and the ratio between the gemstone and the structure prior to lost-wax casting. The prong setting supports the ruby, whilst the pavé follows the curves with a more continuous sparkle. Polishing and quality control complete the manufacturing process.
Every review reflects a real commission: the initial consultation, the listening process, the definition of the project, the anticipation and the moment the finished piece becomes part of the client’s life.
