Handmade white gold ring with a red heart-shaped ruby and diamonds, custom-made by Antonio Colonna

Emotions

A drop-shaped ruby meets two lines of diamonds in an essential and luminous geometry

The creation

This white gold ring with Ruby assign the central gem the point of greatest visual intensity. Two converging lines, illuminated by the diamonds, guide the gaze towards the drop and define a clear and contemporary V-shape. The shank maintains continuity and cleanliness, while the contrast between the light metal and the deep colour of the ruby makes the ring present on the hand without weighing down its appearance.

Let's shape your new bespoke ring

Emozioni shows how an archive reference can open up a new bespoke project, built around the gemstone, the hand and personal style.

The initial meeting serves to clarify the starting reference, the gemstones, the proportions and the production possibilities of the new project.

Personalised jewellery

Emozioni belongs to my archive of completed creations and documents a design journey. A new ring is redesigned starting from the individual, the size of the hand, the selected gemstones, the metal, the intended use and the desired character. In my workshop in Altamura, I personally oversee every check to ensure that proportions, wearability and visual presence achieve a personal balance.

From inspiration to design

Inspiration

The project stems from an encounter with an Indian client travelling in Puglia, attracted by Dragon tear, a creation already present in my archive. That reference indicated a formal direction, which was then reworked through a more essential structure, the choice of the ruby and a different balance between solids and light. The comparison allowed the initial inspiration to be transformed into a ring consistent with the client's taste and proportions.

Materials and finishes

I have developed Emozioni in 18-carat white gold with a natural ruby and natural diamonds. 3D modelling and prototyping made it possible to verify the V-shape, the height of the gem and the thicknesses prior to lost-wax casting. The specified settings support the relationship between the ruby and the diamonds, whilst polishing and quality control complete a project managed to achieve precision, comfort and continuity of surfaces.

Certifications and registrations

Technical expertise, professional registrations and qualifications have accompanied the development of my work in the goldsmithing and jewellery field.

Awards and recognition

Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.

How is a piece of jewellery born?

A piece of jewellery can be inspired by a specific request or by a story worth cherishing. It is Custom when it starts with a shape, a stone, a material or a style to be crafted to measure. It becomes narrative When transforming a memory, symbol or personal passage into substance, proportion and meaning. Wedding rings, rings, pendants, necklaces and bracelets can follow both paths. In the Jewellery section, you can discover which one best suits your idea.

Do you want to start from a creation like this?

A gem, a geometry or an archival creation can indicate an initial direction. In my Altamura atelier, we can transform it into a design built around your proportions and preferences.

The initial meeting is to clarify desires, materials, structure, timelines, and feasibility. It doesn't require an immediate decision.
