This white gold ring with sapphire focus the composition on an intense-coloured pear-shaped gemstone. The band takes a V-shaped curve and accompanies the sapphire with a line of diamonds which introduces a finer and more progressive brightness. Solids and openings keep the structure legible, while on the hand the contrast between bright metal, deep blue and points of light creates a defined yet balanced presence.

The initial meeting serves to understand which moment, place or image to transform into material and which elements to keep more intimate.
On a winter's night, the sky seems deeper and the snow reflects every glimmer with a different light. Goccia d'amore is born from this connection: the sapphire captures the blue of the night, while the diamonds accompany the shimmer flowing across the snow-covered surface. The teardrop shape holds the heart of the story, and New Year's Eve becomes a symbolic threshold, the moment when a gift binds what has been to what is yet to begin.
Goccia d’amore belongs to my archive of completed creations and holds a moment, a light and a personal choice. A new narrative ring is redesigned starting from the person, the meaning to be represented, the proportions of the hand, the gemstones, the metal and the intended use.
The inspiration comes from the desire to prepare a gift for New Year's Eve during the Christmas holidays. The client was looking for a shape capable of evoking the deep blue of the night sky and the moonlight reflected on the snow. From this image, I built the relationship between the sapphire, chosen as the chromatic centre, and the diamonds, conceived as a luminous trail that accompanies the gem without overpowering it.
I developed Drop of love in 18-carat white gold with a natural pear-cut sapphire and natural diamonds. 3D modelling and prototyping made it possible to verify the height of the gemstone, the curve of the band and the proportions prior to lost-wax casting. The claw setting supports the sapphire, whilst the bright-cut finish accompanies the diamonds. Polishing and quality control complete the structure.
Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.
One night, a landscape or a light can become the origin of a new narrative project. In my atelier in Altamura we can translate that memory into gemstones, proportions and details built around the person.
The initial meeting is to clarify desires, materials, structure, timelines, and feasibility. It doesn't require an immediate decision.
