The creation

This personalised ring with Aquamarine it builds its own identity through two opposing lines that approach the gemstone without enclosing it. The white gold creates a sharp, continuous profile, while the aquamarine concentrates the colour at the centre of the composition. On the hand, the structure appears essential yet present: symmetry, openings and proportions keep the relationship between volume, light and movement legible.

Let's design a new balance around your gem

Contrariè demonstrates how an archive creation can become the starting point for a new bespoke ring, defined around the gemstone and the person.

The initial consultation is used to clarify the gemstone, proportions, symmetry and manufacturing possibilities of the new project.

Personalised jewellery

Contrariè belongs to my archive of completed creations and bears witness to a design journey. A new ring is redesigned taking into account the person, the size of the hand, the chosen gemstone, the metal, the intended use and the desired proportions. In my workshop in Altamura I personally oversee every check, so that form, stability, wearability and character find a solution that is consistent with the wearer.

From inspiration to design

Inspiration

The project stems from Ajna, a creation already present in my archive and chosen by the children as a reference for their mother's sixtieth birthday. From that initial direction I developed a new composition, oriented towards the light blue shade that the recipient desired and towards a simple, elegant and understated presence. Symmetry guided the relationship between the aquamarine, opposing arms and proportions on the hand.

Materials and finishes

I developed the Contrariè in 18-carat white gold with a natural aquamarine, starting with 3D modelling and prototyping to check dimensions, heights and the ratio between the gemstone and the shanks. Following lost-wax casting, prong setting defined the support of the stone whilst allowing its colour to remain visible. Polishing and quality control completed a structure designed for precision, balance and comfort.

Certifications and registrations

Technical expertise, professional registrations and qualifications have accompanied the development of my work in the goldsmithing and jewellery field.

Awards and recognition

Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.

How is a piece of jewellery born?

A piece of jewellery can be inspired by a specific request or by a story worth cherishing. It is Custom when it starts with a shape, a stone, a material or a style to be crafted to measure. It becomes narrative When transforming a memory, symbol or personal passage into substance, proportion and meaning. Wedding rings, rings, pendants, necklaces and bracelets can follow both paths. In the Jewellery section, you can discover which one best suits your idea.

Do you want to start from a creation like this?

A gemstone, a colour or an archival creation can point the initial direction. In my Altamura atelier, we can develop a new ring by defining proportions, structure and presence on the hand together.

The initial meeting is to clarify desires, materials, structure, timelines, and feasibility. It doesn't require an immediate decision.
