During the initial meeting, I work with you to clarify what the piece of jewellery is to express, even before defining its formal design.
Ajna is born at the moment when a marriage proposal meets a language that is already meaningful to the person who will receive the ring. The reference to the third eye introduces the idea of a centre towards which to orient oneself, whilst the structure of the piece keeps the narrative discreet. The lines approach the diamond without completely enclosing it: the centre remains luminous and recognisable, as a focal point around which the material finds balance.
Ajna belongs to my archive and documents how a personal reference can be transformed into a goldsmithing project through listening, drawing and verification.
The project originates from a marriage proposal intended for a yoga teacher and takes Ajna as its declared reference. In the tradition of yoga and Hindu philosophy, Ajna is the sixth chakra, known as the third-eye chakra. I tackled this theme avoiding a literal translation: the work focuses instead on the centre, on directions and on the relationship between the parts, so that the meaning remains present in the construction without becoming explicit decoration.
I developed Ajna in 18-carat white gold with a natural diamond, starting with 3D modelling and moving on to prototyping to physically verify the shape. The fitting with the client made it possible to assess heights, thicknesses and proportions before final production. The technical process continued with lost-wax casting, prong and hammer setting, polishing and quality control, maintaining a focus on the stability and clarity of the design.
Every review reflects a real commission: the initial consultation, the listening process, the definition of the project, the anticipation and the moment the finished piece becomes part of the client’s life.
