The creation

Treasure trove of virtue is a white gold ring with baroque pearl natural and diamonds, built around the living irregularity of the gemstone. The pearl occupies the centre of the composition and is accompanied by curved lines that seem to open up and close around it.

Diamonds introduce a subtle light, while engraved surfaces create depth and movement. On the hand, the piece has a significant yet balanced presence among volume, negative space and an enveloping flow.

We hold the memory of a journey in a piece of jewellery

A casket of virtues can inspire a new narrative jewel, built around a gemstone, a journey and the memory you wish to preserve.

I personally handle the consultation, design, prototype and final quality control in my workshop in Altamura or online.

Narrative jewel

An irregularly shaped pearl has returned from Tahiti, able to hold ever-changing reflections on its surface. Scrigno di virtù was created to safeguard that fragment of a journey just as a shell protects what grows within it. The lines of gold open up around the gemstone, while the diamonds capture the sparkle of the sunlit water. The piece of jewellery does not merely describe a place: it preserves the scents, light and sensations of a holiday that remains alive in the memory.

Scrigno di virtù belongs to my archive of completed works and stems from a specific pearl, a journey and a meaning entrusted by the client. It is not a design to be replicated: every new project is redrawn taking into account the gemstone, the proportions of the hand, materials, intended use and the intensity of the narrative.

From inspiration to design

Inspiration

The project stems from a pearl chosen during a trip to Tahiti and the desire to capture the sensations of that holiday within the piece of jewellery. I worked on the reference of the shell as a shape capable of holding and protecting, without reproducing it literally.

The pearl retains the unpredictability of natural matter; the diamonds recall the sun's reflections on the water, while the lateral lines accompany the memory of a landscape experienced and still present.

Materials and finishes

I developed the structure through 3D modelling and prototyping, adapting every curve to the irregular proportions of the natural baroque pearl. Following the lost-wax casting of the 18-carat white gold, the diamonds were set in a pavé.

The silk-effect burin engraving distinguishes the lateral surfaces and makes their movement perceptible; polishing and quality control complete the work by verifying stability, finishes and the relationship between the gemstone and the structure.

Certifications and registrations

Technical expertise, professional registrations and qualifications have accompanied the development of my work in the goldsmithing and jewellery field.

Awards and recognition

Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.

How is a piece of jewellery born?

A piece of jewellery can be inspired by a specific request or by a story worth cherishing. It is Custom when it starts with a shape, a stone, a material or a style to be crafted to measure. It becomes narrative When transforming a memory, symbol or personal passage into substance, proportion and meaning. Wedding rings, rings, pendants, necklaces and bracelets can follow both paths. In the Jewellery section, you can discover which one best suits your idea.

Do you want to start from a creation like this?

A gem chosen from afar, a landscape or a feeling that has remained vivid can become the centre of a new project. In my atelier in Altamura I translate these references into form, material and light.

The initial meeting is to clarify desires, materials, structure, timelines, and feasibility. It doesn't require an immediate decision.
