Celtic Cross belongs to my archive of created pieces and bears witness to a solution developed for a specific request. Each new piece of jewellery is redesigned considering the person, proportions, materials, use, wearability and desired character. In my atelier in Altamura, I personally oversee the transition from the initial reference to the construction, so that each project finds its own coherence without repeating a previously executed form.
The client gave me a precise design to turn into a piece of jewellery, asking me to enrich the surface with Florentine-style burin engraving. Among the chosen references she had also looked at the ring Merger, appreciating its decorative research. I therefore kept the initial geometric layout recognisable, developing the transition from graphics to material through proportions, reliefs and a coherent ornamental design.
I worked in 18-carat rose gold and white gold through manual metal shaping, defining the structure, openwork and transitions between the various elements. Florentine burin engraving brings the surfaces to life with a minute mark, while flush setting integrates Ruby cabochon diamonds squares in the composition. Polishing and quality control complete the work, with attention to edge precision and finish continuity.
Every review reflects a real commission: the initial consultation, the listening process, the definition of the project, the anticipation and the moment the finished piece becomes part of the client’s life.
