The rose gold pendant with pearl e diamonds Cancer develops a compact figure, recognisable in the crab placed at the centre of the necklace. The baroque pearls introduce irregular and soft volumes to the sides, while the diamonds concentrate light on the claws. Legs, body and connectors build a three-dimensional presence rich in detail. When worn, the piece of jewellery becomes the focal point of the composition without losing balance in relation to the succession of pearls.

The initial meeting serves to clarify references, proportions, materials and feasibility, without requiring an immediate decision.
Cancer belongs to my archive and documents a solution born from a specific personal request. Each new piece of jewellery is redesigned considering the person, proportions, materials, use and wearability. In my atelier in Altamura I directly oversee this process, so that a previously known reference can find an autonomous translation that is consistent with the person who wishes to wear it.
The client wanted to bring one of her passions into the piece of jewellery: astrology and, in particular, the zodiac sign of Cancer. I chose to work on the figure of the crab as an immediate reference, avoiding unsolicited character interpretations. The project therefore takes an already recognisable symbol and transforms it into a personal presence through proportions, material and details constructed expressly for this composition.
I developed the pendant using 3D modelling to control the volumes, the articulation of the figure and the relationship with the pearls. After lost-wax casting in 18-carat rose gold, I set the diamonds using pavé setting in the designated areas. The knotted stringing completes the relationship between the central element and the baroque pearls. Finally, polishing and quality control allow me to check the surfaces, transitions and continuity of the construction.
Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.
If you would like to start from a symbol, a passion or an image that represents you, I can guide you in developing a new bespoke piece of jewellery.
The initial meeting is to clarify desires, materials, structure, timelines, and feasibility. It doesn't require an immediate decision.
