Promise
The creation
It is an engagement ring with Aquamarine in 18-carat white gold and diamonds natural, built around the luminous presence of the central gemstone. The shank develops multiple lines that flank the composition, whilst the diamonds enhance the passage of light towards the centre. On the hand, the aquamarine takes on a dominant role, balanced by the bright and intricate structure of the metal.

Narrative jewel
A promise can be tied to a place, making it part of the memory. For Promessa, that place is the beach of Vaadhoo island, chosen by Riccardo to ask Esther to marry him. The aquamarine recalls the water and the blue light of marine bioluminescence, while the rows of diamonds evoke the luminous sand and the traces left in the night. This ring belongs to my archive of created pieces and documents a journey born from the encounter between a story, a gemstone and a concrete verification of proportions. A new ring is not simply repeated starting from this shape: it is redesigned according to the person, the hand, the materials, the intended use and the meaning to be preserved.
From inspiration to design
Inspiration
The Promessa ring stems from the design of a wedding proposal on the beach of the island of Vaadhoo. From this story I developed a direction in which the aquamarine becomes the focal point of the design, recalling the water and the particular light of marine bioluminescence. The lines of diamonds accompany the composition, evoking the luminous sand and the traces in the night, without literally reproducing the landscape.
Materials and finishes
I worked with 18-carat white gold, aquamarine and natural diamonds, developing the project through 3D modelling, prototyping and lost-wax casting. Pavé setting, bright-cut setting, polishing and surface treatment complete the piece. The prototype allowed the client to check proportions, heights and thicknesses on the hand before final production.
