Iniziali is a bespoke 18-carat rose and white gold engagement ring, built around a diamond natural, chosen together with the client. The contrast between the two metals highlights the central setting, while the shank flows continuously up towards the gem. The initials of the engaged couple are discreetly integrated into the lines of the structure, legible as part of the design rather than as an added element.

The initial meeting serves to connect gemstone, proportions, shape, and personal details before defining the new project.
Iniziali belongs to my archive of creations and documents a design approach in which gemstone, structure and personal details are developed together. It is not a shape to be repeated: for a new project I redesign proportions, materials, setting and relationship with the stone based on the person, the hand, the intended use and the elements one wishes to integrate. The reference serves to start a new piece of research, not to retrace one already completed.
The starting point was Two Hearts, a previous creation of mine that had struck the client for its geometries and ratio between the metals. From that reference we developed an independent shape, focusing on the shank and above all on the structure supporting the gemstone, into which I integrated the couple's initials. The diamond too was part of the project right from the start, through a selection made together with the client.
I designed 18-carat rose and white gold initials around the natural diamond selected with the client. 3D modelling and prototyping made it possible to try on the ring before final production, checking proportions, heights and thicknesses on the hand. After the lost-wax casting, the client followed the process right through to the setting of the gemstone, learning about its characteristics and evaluation criteria first-hand.
Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.
In my studio in Altamura I can guide you through the choice of the gemstone, the development of the proportions and the checking of the prototype, right through to the stages that turn the design into a ring tailored for the person who will wear it.
The initial meeting is to clarify desires, materials, structure, timelines, and feasibility. It doesn't require an immediate decision.
