Custom narrative wedding rings up and down in 18-carat yellow and white gold

Up and down

18-carat yellow and white gold narrative wedding bands representing the ups and downs of life

The creation

Su e giù is a pair of bespoke narrative wedding rings in 18-carat yellow and white gold, constructed through a sequence of elements that varies along the circumference. The continuous edges contain a central rhythm made of solids, level changes and chromatic alternations. On the hand, the band has a bold presence, while the contrast between the two golds makes the various passages legible without breaking the overall unity of the ring.

Which parts of your story deserve a form?

A pair of rings that turn the ups and downs of life into a sequence journeyed and to be journeyed together. Your story too can become a structure to wear, built on passages, people and meanings that are truly yours.

During the initial meeting, we identify the core elements of your story together and assess how to translate them into consistent proportions, materials and design features.

Narrative wedding rings

The life of a couple does not always proceed at the same elevation. There are passages that lead upwards, others that require descending, stopping and finding a direction together. In these wedding rings, movement becomes a continuous sequence, while two elements in gold introduce the presence of children into the journey. They do not interrupt the path: they become part of it, like new points in the family story that modify the rhythm and, at the same time, keep it united.

This commission belongs to my archive of past creations and preserves a formal translation created specifically for this family. Each new project is redesigned around the people, the proportions of their hands, the materials, the intended use and the meanings to be treasured.

From inspiration to design

Inspiration

The project starts from some images found online by the couple, used to clarify a formal direction. However, the meaning stems from their experience: the ups and downs they have experienced together become a sequence of steps along faith, while two yellow gold steps represent the children. I turned this idea into a continuous structure, trying to blend family memory, visual rhythm and proportions suitable for everyday use.

Materials and finishes

For Su e giù I worked in 18-carat yellow and white gold through 3D modelling, prototyping, lost-wax casting, silk-effect burin engraving, polishing and quality control. The prototypes allowed the couple to check sizes, heights, thicknesses and the ratio between the different elements before final production. I directly oversaw the design discussions, calibrating the rhythm of the band so that the narrative, structure and wearability remained consistent.
