Pair of Quercia 18-carat rose gold wedding rings with an engraved surface

Oak

Rose gold narrative wedding rings born from the bark of an oak tree and a promise entrusted to nature

The creation

Quercia is a pair of 18-carat rose gold wedding rings, built on a continuous line that recalls the bark chosen by the couple as a reference. The relief runs along the surface with an irregular yet controlled rhythm, alternating solids, grooves and reflections. The feel on the finger was verified as early as the prototype stage, so as to calibrate proportions, heights and thicknesses prior to final production.

What story do you want to entrust to your rings?

From this piece of bark, a new bespoke wedding ring project can be born, built around your story and the proportions of your hands.

The initial meeting serves to understand which elements of your story can take shape, in what proportions, and through which material.

Narrative wedding rings

The oak does not enter these wedding rings as a simple decoration. Its bark preserves the memory of a ritual experienced on the Pollino, while the tree rings become an image of the promise the couple has chosen to hand down. In the design, the engraved surface makes that memory visible without recounting it literally: two wedding bands transform a place, a shared gesture and the time of nature into a presence to be carried with one.

Quercia belongs to my archive of completed creations and tells the story of a specific journey, born from meeting a couple and their history. Every new project is redesigned from scratch: listening, hand proportions, materials, daily use and meaning guide different choices.

From inspiration to design

Inspiration

The inspiration stems from a symbolic ritual experienced by the couple during a hike on the Pollino, in a mountain place meaningful to them. Beneath an oak tree, they entrusted nature with the request for two rings with which to celebrate their wedding, reading an image of continuity in the rings of the trunk. From that gesture came the choice to transform the bark of the tree into a trace to be worn in the wedding bands, over time.

Materials and finishes

I developed Quercia in 18-carat rose gold through 3D modelling and prototyping, steps that allowed the couple to try on the rings and check proportions, heights and thicknesses together. The creation continued with lost-wax casting, burin engraving, polishing and quality control. The couple followed the steps in Goldsmiths for a day trail, coming into direct contact with the process right through to delivery. The engraving gives rhythm to the surface and to the light.

Certifications and registrations

Technical expertise, professional registrations and qualifications have accompanied the development of my work in the goldsmithing and jewellery field.

Awards and recognition

Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.

Do you want to start from a creation like this?

We can start from a place, a gesture or a symbol that belongs to your story and translate it into a new wedding ring design, created together in my studio in Altamura.

The initial meeting is to clarify desires, materials, structure, timelines, and feasibility. It doesn't require an immediate decision.
