Cone of light belongs to my archive of completed creations and documents a precise exploration of the relationship between luminosity, proportions and the hand. A new ring is redesigned taking into account the person, the selected gemstones, the size, the metal, the intended use and the desired presence. In my workshop in Altamura, I personally oversee the necessary checks to ensure that structure, wearability and visual appeal achieve a personal balance.
The project stems from the client's desire to wear a luminous ring without seeking an overly flashy effect. The direction chosen was therefore to concentrate the brilliance in the central part, while maintaining an orderly and proportioned structure. The name Cono di luce (Cone of light) sums up this intention: guiding the gaze towards the centre and letting the brightness gradually diminish along the hand.
I developed Cono di luce in 18-carat white gold with natural diamonds. 3D modelling and prototyping made it possible to control the height of the central part, the thicknesses and the proportions before lost-wax casting. The setting organises the distribution of the gems between the centre and the shank, while the polishing and quality control complete a structure monitored to achieve precision, stability and comfort.
Every review reflects a real commission: the initial consultation, the listening process, the definition of the project, the anticipation and the moment the finished piece becomes part of the client’s life.
