Initial is a bespoke yellow gold ring with natural diamonds, organised around a large letter set within a circular profile. The hand-engraved external surface creates a subtle, regular rhythm, while the pavé setting concentrates the light within the letter.
The double shank supports the head while leaving large voids visible; on the hand, the composition maintains presence and legibility without losing balance between mark, metal and proportions.

I personally oversee the design, prototype, manufacturing and final inspection in my workshop in Altamura.
Initial belongs to my archive of completed works and shows how a letter can become the centre of a project built around the individual. It is not a shape to be replicated: every new ring is redesigned taking into account the initial, the graphic style, the proportions of the hand, the material, the intended use and the visual intensity.
In my workshop in Altamura I personally oversee every step, ensuring that my personal style finds an autonomous and coherent expression.
The project stems from the client's desire to wear her initial in a recognisable yet non-literal form. I worked on the relationship between letter and circle, seeking a structure capable of giving the character an independent yet harmonious presence on the hand.
Thus the R becomes the centre of the composition, while the outer profile contains the design and reinforces its legibility through a precise balance between solids and voids.
I developed the ring through 3D modelling and prototyping, checking the letter size, the thickness of the circular profile and the ratio with the double shank.
Following the lost-wax casting of the 18-carat yellow gold, natural diamonds were set in a pavé arrangement. The hand-engraved silk-effect border adds vibrancy to the outer edge, while polishing and quality control complete the inspection of finishes, stability and wearability.
Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.
A letter can become form, rhythm and personal presence. In my studio in Altamura we will evaluate together its style, proportions, material and relationship with the hand.
The initial meeting is to clarify desires, materials, structure, timelines, and feasibility. It doesn't require an immediate decision.
