In the inspirational story, Aelion loses all bearings in the Sea of Mists and finds his way by observing what instruments cannot show. The reflected tree becomes a guide: the roots recall stability, the branches follow the wind, and the light at the base indicates the direction. I translated this tension into the pendant as an encounter between grounding and movement, entrusting that luminous point with the role of guiding the design.
Secret Route belongs to my archive and documents a solution born from a precise request. Each new piece of jewellery is redesigned considering the person, proportions, materials, use and meaning.
Inspiration comes from the legend of the Secret Route, set amongst the sea, fog and coastal trees capable of showing sailors the way back. In the tale, Aelion finds his direction again by observing the reflection of a tree and a light kept amongst the roots. I have taken these elements as design references: stability and guidance on the one hand, and openness to change and courage on the other. The form is born from this balance.
I hand-modelled the 18-carat white gold wire, progressively building curves, connections and internal spaces. This method allows me to directly control the rhythm of the form and the relationship between the different parts. I set the diamond using a claw setting at the position intended by the design, then I took care of the polishing and quality control. The finish enhances the continuity of the metal and the precision of the transitions.
