The creation

Tourmaline is a white gold ring with a red tourmaline, built around the intense presence of the central gemstone. diamonds Natural trillion-cut diamonds introduce two lateral points of light and complement the symmetry of the composition, while the shank maintains a clean line. On the hand, the volume remains bold yet refined: the prongs, basket and shoulders work together to support the gem and give the overall piece visual balance.

A new ring can start with the right gemstone

This creation can inspire a new ring, redesigned around the gemstone, the hand and the proportions of the wearer.

The initial consultation is used to assess the gemstone, proportions and manufacturing feasibility clearly, without requiring an immediate decision.

Personalised jewellery

Tourmaline belongs to my archive of completed and documented creations, and documents a project built around the characteristics of a specific gemstone and direct consultation with the client. It is not a shape to be repeated: for a new ring I redesign the proportions, setting, claws, materials and relationship with the hand. Every choice is verified against the available stone, the intended use and the necessary durability, so that the result has its own identity and is designed to last.

From inspiration to design

Inspiration

The project started from images of classic rings selected by the client, used as a reference to define a more personal shape. The desire was primarily about the construction of the prongs and the basket, not just the design of the shank. Following the joint selection of the natural red tourmaline, which is hard to source in the desired colour, I developed the entire structure around the real proportions of the gemstone, aiming for symmetry, presence and formal coherence.

Materials and finishes

I made the 18-carat white gold ring with a natural red tourmaline and natural trillion-cut diamonds. In my atelier in Altamura, I followed the 3D modelling and prototyping, allowing the client to try the volume before final manufacturing. Lost-wax casting, prong and flush setting, polishing and quality control completed a structure calibrated for height, thickness, stability and comfort.

Certifications and registrations

Technical expertise, professional registrations and qualifications have accompanied the development of my work in the goldsmithing and jewellery field.

Awards and recognition

Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.

How is a piece of jewellery born?

A piece of jewellery can be inspired by a specific request or by a story worth cherishing. It is Custom when it starts with a shape, a stone, a material or a style to be crafted to measure. It becomes narrative When transforming a memory, symbol or personal passage into substance, proportion and meaning. Wedding rings, rings, pendants, necklaces and bracelets can follow both paths. In the Jewellery section, you can discover which one best suits your idea.
