A contemporary yellow gold eternity ring, designed around diamonds of varying proportions

The creation

Diadema is a yellow gold ring with diamonds natural, built upon a progression of volumes that leads towards the central section. The stones, of varying sizes, determine the rhythm of the composition and make the upper band more intricate than a traditional half-eternity ring. The side profile reveals solids and voids, whilst the gold accompanies the sequence with a continuous and measured presence on the hand.

When the gems guide the design

A classic typology can change character when structure, rhythm and proportions are reimagined for gemstones and the hand.

I move directly from the initial reference to checking the proportions, so that every choice has a precise function.

Personalised jewellery

Diadema belongs to my archive and documents a project born from the encounter between a known typology and a precise series of gemstones. In my workshop in Altamura, I do not transfer that solution onto another person automatically: a new ring is redesigned by evaluating the hand, stones, proportions, materials, intended use, and desired character, so that the structure has its own design rationale and is not a simple formal variation.

From inspiration to design

Inspiration

The client started from images of classic eternity rings, but was looking for a less conventional solution in the construction of the shank and, above all, the setting. I therefore worked on the actual sequence of available diamonds, letting their varying sizes guide the design. From this choice emerged a more personal structure, understated in its language yet recognisable in its rhythm and the way it supports each gemstone.

Materials and finishes

I developed the Diadema in 18-carat yellow gold with natural diamonds through 3D modelling and prototyping, so as to build the setting to the actual measurements of the gems. The preliminary test made it possible to check heights, thicknesses and proportions before final production. The process continued with lost-wax casting, hammer setting, polishing and quality control, maintaining consistency between design and structure.

Certifications and registrations

Technical expertise, professional registrations and qualifications have accompanied the development of my work in the goldsmithing and jewellery field.

Awards and recognition

Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.

How is a piece of jewellery born?

A piece of jewellery can be inspired by a specific request or by a story worth cherishing. It is Custom when it starts with a shape, a stone, a material or a style to be crafted to measure. It becomes narrative When transforming a memory, symbol or personal passage into substance, proportion and meaning. Wedding rings, rings, pendants, necklaces and bracelets can follow both paths. In the Jewellery section, you can discover which one best suits your idea.
