Classico is a white gold engagement ring built around the luminous presence of a diamond natural. The composition retains the clarity of the solitaire, but plays with the proportions of the shank and the shape of the claws. The client personally supervised the setting of the diamond, a step that made the relationship between the chosen gem, its authenticity and the piece of jewellery he was later to gift verifiable.

The initial discussion serves to clarify the starting point and the choices to be explored further, without assuming the repetition of the creation shown.
Classico belongs to my archive of past creations and documents a design journey, not a shape to be repeated. A new ring is redesigned starting from the person who will wear it, the proportions of the hand, the chosen gemstone, the materials, the intended use and the desired aesthetic direction. The archival reference therefore serves to open up a dialogue and understand which choices can become truly personal.
The project originates from images of traditional solitaire rings chosen by the client as an initial reference, with the request to develop a more personal shape. Alongside the aesthetic research, trust in the purchase of the gemstone was also central: the client wanted to verify its characteristics and documentation and personally witness its setting, so as to follow directly one of the decisive moments of the creation.
Classico is crafted in 18-carat white gold with a natural diamond. I developed the shape and proportions through 3D modelling, prototyping and lost-wax casting, prior to the final crafting stages. The claw setting was carried out in the client's presence, allowing them to follow the mounting of their chosen gemstone directly in my workshop in Altamura, reinforcing the verification of its authenticity. Polishing and quality control completed the work.
Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.
Classico starts from a known reference to arrive at a personal solution. In my workshop in Altamura we can evaluate together the gemstone, shape, proportions and construction details of a new project.
The initial meeting is to clarify desires, materials, structure, timelines, and feasibility. It doesn't require an immediate decision.
