Battiti d'amore belongs to my archive of created works and documents a design process that has already been completed. A new project is redesigned starting from the couple, the proportions of the hands, the chosen material, daily use and the meaning you wish to give it. The value of the archive is to show a method and open up new possibilities, not to fix a one-size-fits-all solution.
The project stems from images chosen by the couple from my wedding ring gallery, used as references to find a personal and non-standard form. From that discussion I developed Battiti d’amore: the idea of heartbeats when the partner is close becomes a formal direction, not a literal symbol. The preliminary phase began via video call and was then completed in my studio in Altamura, where the couple were able to see and try on the prototypes.
For these wedding rings I followed 3D modelling, prototyping, lost-wax casting, polishing and quality control. The prototypes allowed the couple to physically check the proportions before the final creation and discuss heights, thicknesses and how they feel on the finger with me. This step bridges the gap between design and matter and reduces decisions based solely on the digital image, keeping the design consistent with everyday use.
Every review reflects a real commission: the initial consultation, the listening process, the definition of the project, the anticipation and the moment the finished piece becomes part of the client’s life.
