Faceted

18-carat yellow gold wedding bands where geometry, proportions and light define the character of the shape

The creation

The faceted yellow gold wedding rings, Faceted, interpret 18-carat yellow gold through a geometric profile constructed from planes that change direction along the circumference. Consequently, the light travels across the metal differently at each angle, making the structure legible without any added decorative elements. Furthermore, through prototypes I verified the pair of proportions, heights and thicknesses, seeking a balance between visual presence and everyday wearability.

Geometry takes shape in your hands

From this geometric research, a new wedding ring design can be born, redrawn to fit your hands and the character you wish to express.

The initial consultation can also take place via video call and serves to clarify the shape, proportions and feasibility of the project.

Bespoke wedding rings

Sfaccettate belongs to my archive of completed creations and documents a journey built around a specific couple. Because of this, I do not consider this solution a shape to be repeated: every new project is redesigned to fit the hands, proportions, chosen material, daily use and desired character. The archive shows what I have already explored; at the same time, it becomes the starting point for a new journey of research that is coherent with the people who will live with it.

From inspiration to design

Inspiration

The project stems from images selected by the couple in my Creations gallery, chosen as a reference to seek a personal and more decisive form. From this comparison, I developed a faceted geometry capable of characterising the ring through its very structure. Before moving on to production, the preliminary phase also took place via video call; subsequently, the prototypes allowed the couple to physically evaluate the proportions and presence on the finger.

Materials and finishes

For Sfaccettate I followed 3D modelling, prototyping, lost-wax casting, polishing and quality control. Firstly, digital design allowed me to define the sequence of the planes and their relationship with the volume of the band. Subsequently, the prototype transformed those choices into a tangible verification on the hand. In this way, shape, thicknesses and heights could be evaluated with the couple before final production.

Certifications and registrations

Technical expertise, professional registrations and qualifications have accompanied the development of my work in the goldsmithing and jewellery field.

Goldsmiths for a Day experience

Discover what it means to create your wedding rings together

Come into the workshop and discover a different way of experiencing the creation of your wedding rings.

You will be involved in the most significant phases of the process, accompanied step by step throughout the experience.

At the end of the day, you will take away not only the wedding rings, but also the memory of having made them together with your own hands.

Awards and recognition

Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.

Do you want to start from a creation like this?

If you are looking for wedding rings with a more geometric character, we can start from references, proportions and the feel on the hand to develop a new direction together. The prototype allows the shape to be checked before final production.

The initial meeting is to clarify desires, materials, structure, timelines, and feasibility. It doesn't require an immediate decision.
