Detail of the yellow gold cross-hatched wedding bands with hand-engraved detailing

Cross-hatching

18-carat yellow gold wedding bands where geometry and burin engraving build a precise rhythm across the surface

The creation

The Cross-hatch yellow gold engraved wedding rings build their own character through geometry and surface. The planes of the band change inclination along the circumference and certain areas feature a fine hatching that alters the way they respond to the light. The result is a sharp yet controlled visual rhythm. Through the prototypes, I checked proportions, heights and thicknesses with the couple, seeking a balance between presence on the hand and everyday wearability.

The sign becomes part of your shape

This research could give rise to a new wedding ring project, redesigned around your proportions and the relationship between form, light and detail.

The initial consultation can even take place via video call and is used to clarify references, proportions, techniques and the feasibility of the project.

Bespoke wedding rings

Cross-hatching belongs to my archive of completed creations and documents a research developed for a specific couple. Each new project is redesigned based on hands, proportions, material, daily use and the desired character. The archive shows possibilities already explored; at the same time, it opens up a new design path consistent with the people who will experience it.

From inspiration to design

Inspiration

The project stems from images chosen by the couple in my gallery Creations, used as references to search for a personal structure and a less conventional surface. From that comparison I developed a faceted band in which the geometric design dialogues with the engraved hatching. The preliminary phase also began via video call; subsequently, the prototypes made it possible to evaluate proportions and presence directly on the hand before production.

Materials and finishes

For Tratteggio incrociato I followed 3D modelling, prototyping, lost-wax casting, cross-silk effect burin engraving, polishing and quality control. Digital design allowed me to define the relationship between planes and volumes; then the prototype transformed those choices into a tangible verification. The engraving intervenes on the surface with a minute and controlled mark, while the polishing concludes the relationship between different areas and light.

Certifications and registrations

Technical expertise, professional registrations and qualifications have accompanied the development of my work in the goldsmithing and jewellery field.

Awards and recognition

Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.

Do you want to start from a creation like this?

If you would like wedding rings where geometry and surface finishing play a precise role, we can start from your references and develop a new direction together. Prototypes and direct consultation allow us to check the proportions before final production.

The initial meeting is to clarify desires, materials, structure, timelines, and feasibility. It doesn't require an immediate decision.
