I follow the process directly from drawing to modelling, and from prototype to final verification.
Mandala belongs to my archive of completed works and documents how a personal mark can become a goldsmith's structure through design, proportions and technical control. It is not a shape to be replicated: every new ring is redesigned taking into account the initial drawing, the hand, the material, the intended use and the balance of volumes.
In my workshop in Altamura I personally oversee every stage, so that the result retains the individual's identity.
The starting point is a design created by the client, born from her passion for mandalas and entrusted to my work so that it could become matter. I did not treat the line as a simple applied decoration: I studied its rhythm, solids, voids and joints to adapt it to the curvature of the ring.
The transition from sheet to volume required a controlled reinterpretation, capable of preserving the character of the drawing without forcing its legibility.
I developed the ring through 3D modelling and prototyping, transforming the flat design into a continuous surface that is consistent with the shape of the finger. Following the lost-wax casting of the 18-carat yellow gold, the structure was finished and polished to make the different levels of the motif and the transitions between solids and hollows legible.
Quality control concludes the work by verifying surface continuity, interior comfort, and alignment between design and implementation.
Every review reflects a real commission: the initial consultation, the listening process, the definition of the project, the anticipation and the moment the finished piece becomes part of the client’s life.
