Tahiti belongs to my archive of past creations and is testament to a solution developed for a specific request. It does not represent a shape to be repeated. Each new piece of jewellery is redesigned taking into account the person, proportions, materials, purpose, and wearability. In my atelier in Altamura, I personally oversee the process from the initial reference to the construction, ensuring that the result achieves its own formal and technical identity.
The clients started from images seen online and asked me for a personal solution, not limited to the simple reproduction of a shape. The project found its direction in the dialogue between the dark pearl and a play of white gold spirals. I interpreted this contrast by seeking a balance between central concentration and movement, letting the metal design accompany the gem without detracting from its presence.
I worked 18-carat white gold, starting from sheet metal and manually developing the structure of the pendant. The bulin engraving introduces a dense rhythm across the surface and modifies the way light is distributed around the pearl. The polishing, on the other hand, defines the edges and the most reflective areas. Quality control concludes the work by checking the finishes, structural continuity and overall rendering of the piece of jewellery.
Every review reflects a real commission: the initial consultation, the listening process, the definition of the project, the anticipation and the moment the finished piece becomes part of the client’s life.
