In the story entrusted to me, looking means noticing: the person you love, your children, the changes and transitions that often only make sense with time. Iride translates this idea into three distinct presences, united by the same structure but never overlapping. The piece of jewellery does not illustrate every family episode; instead, it captures the value attributed to looking closely, recognising in the highs and lows a shared journey that continues to transform.
Iride belongs to my archive and documents a solution born from a specific narrative. It is not a shape to be repeated. Each new piece of jewellery is redesigned considering the person, proportions, materials, use, wearability and meaning.
The project stems from a husband's desire to pay tribute to his wife and the life they built together. In his story, their three children become the family's most important “jewels”. He was therefore looking for a form capable of bringing together love, experience and the ability to observe what happens inside and around us. The iris emerged as a visual reference because it evokes the gaze and, at the same time, a deeper awareness.
I developed Iride through 3D modelling, verifying the proportions, heights and arrangement of the three elements prior to crafting. The creation in 18-carat white and yellow gold involved lost-wax casting and hand-engraving with a burin. Natural diamonds introduce points of light in the centres of the composition. Polishing and quality control complete the work, with attention to the precision of the lines and the continuity of the surfaces.
Every review reflects a real commission: the initial consultation, the listening process, the definition of the project, the anticipation and the moment the finished piece becomes part of the client’s life.
