The 18-carat yellow gold “40 Giri Intorno al Sole” pendant develops a rounded volume through delicate elements that overlap around a central core, “The Sun”. The lines build depth and allow light to filter through the solids and voids. The movement continually changes the perception of the surface and, once worn, the piece of jewellery maintains a compact and well-defined presence on the body.

During the preliminary phase, I shared the work via video call and through the prototype, allowing clients to evaluate dimensions and presence before final production.
This creation is part of my archive and bears witness to research developed for a specific request. Every new work, however, stems from an independent dialogue with the individual, in which I consider proportions, materials, use, wearability and meaning. In my atelier in Altamura, I personally oversee the transition from idea to creation, so that each project finds its own unique balance without repeating a previously executed solution.
The client wanted to celebrate his wife's fortieth birthday starting from a precise image: forty years correspond to forty orbits around the sun. I turned this insight into an abstract composition, avoiding numbers and literal references. The texture suggests the passage of time through the Earth's movement around the Sun.
I developed the shape using 3D modelling and prototyping to check proportions, heights and thicknesses before working on the 18-carat yellow gold. After lost-wax casting, I assembled and manually shaped the precious metal elements, checking the continuity and relationship between the different parts. Polishing and quality control completed the work, with particular attention to the precision of the joints and the surface finish.
Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.
If you wish to start from a personal intuition, I can guide you in defining a new bespoke piece of jewellery, evaluating shape, proportions and manufacturing possibilities together.
The initial meeting is to clarify desires, materials, structure, timelines, and feasibility. It doesn't require an immediate decision.
