Rose gold ring with natural pink sapphire Our Usual Spot

Our usual place

18-carat rose gold narrative ring with a natural pink sapphire and symbolic interlacing.

The creation

Our Usual Spot is a rose gold ring with a natural pink sapphire, built around a central round gemstone. The structure opens into soft curves and continuous interlacings, with a rhythm that is reminiscent of a live knot rather than a decoration. The metal wraps around the stone without enclosing it, allowing light and breath to filter through. On the hand it would have a recognisable, luminous and intimate presence, with a careful balance between volume and lightness.

Shape the story you want to preserve

This archival creation shows how an intimate story can become a new, bespoke narrative jewel.

In the first meeting I listen to the story, evaluate possible symbols and check materials, proportions and feasibility.

Narrative jewel

In this ring, the “usual place” is not just a location: it is the point where two people know they can find each other again. The pink sapphire becomes home, a warm and luminous centre; the endless knot speaks of the constancy of repeated gestures that provide stability; the anchor remains more hidden, within the shank and the inner fingerprints. The story is not fully displayed, but safeguarded within the material, like a daily promise worn close to the hand.

Il Nostro Solito Posto belongs to the archive of works created in my workshop in Altamura. It is not a form to be replicated identically, but a testament to a method: listening, symbolic translation, design and direct creation. A new narrative ring is always born from a different story, from different proportions and from materials chosen to hold a personal meaning without forcing it into a pre-defined pattern.

From inspiration to design

Inspiration

Inspiration stems from three guiding words: Home, Constancy, Anchor. Home becomes the pink gem, a luminous heart and sanctuary; Constancy takes shape in the Tibetan endless knot, which supports and protects; Anchor is translated in the shank and the engraved interior, as a bond that stays close to the skin. The name speaks of a simple and powerful place of affection: one where you find yourself, every time, without the need for too much explanation.

Materials and finishes

For this ring I worked with 18-carat rose gold and a certified natural pink sapphire, round faceted cut. The CAD/3D design and photographic renderings made it possible to evaluate colour combinations, volumes and the openness of the shoulders. The manufacturing involved lost-wax casting, assembly of modelled elements, claw setting, polished finish with satin-brushed details and fingerprint-effect internal engraving.

Certifications and registrations

Technical expertise, professional registrations and qualifications have accompanied the development of my work in the goldsmithing and jewellery field.

Awards and recognition

Since 2009, I have guided private clients and couples through the creation of their jewellery in my atelier. Over thirty years of goldsmithing experience guide every stage: listening, design, workshop, quality control, and delivery. Awards, mentions, and accolades tell the story of the artisanal, technical, and creative journey that underpins my work. Each badge links to an in-depth article on the blog.

How is a piece of jewellery born?

A piece of jewellery can be inspired by a specific request or by a story worth cherishing. It is Custom when it starts with a shape, a stone, a material or a style to be crafted to measure. It becomes narrative When transforming a memory, symbol or personal passage into substance, proportion and meaning. Wedding rings, rings, pendants, necklaces and bracelets can follow both paths. In the Jewellery section, you can discover which one best suits your idea.

Do you want to start from a creation like this?

A narrative jewel is born from listening. In my atelier in Altamura, I can help you transform a memory, a promise or a symbol into a design built with matter, proportions and meaning.

The initial meeting is to clarify desires, materials, structure, timelines, and feasibility. It doesn't require an immediate decision.
