The story of Veronica and Giuseppe does not stop at their fingerprint wedding rings. After that first project, Giuseppe came back to me with an even more personal desire: to create a Engagement ring capable of surprising Veronica and telling the story of their love.
He wasn't looking for just any piece of jewellery. He wanted a ring that spoke of their story, their encounters, the distance, their hands, their glances, and everything that, between them, went beyond words.
For this reason, this article is the second instalment of Veronica and Giuseppe's story: no longer just the wedding rings, but the design of a narrative engagement ring.
Who are Veronica and Giuseppe
Veronica and Giuseppe are two wonderful people, beautiful inside and out. In the first part of their story I recounted their meeting and love at first sight for their fingerprint wedding rings.
When they decided to make their wedding rings, they told me something that I haven't forgotten:
You can imagine how important hands are to us.
For them, hands were not merely a part of the body. They were language, presence, contact, identity. From that came the idea of wedding rings capable of holding something deeply personal.
I well remember their emotion and the anticipation of seeing the wedding rings take shape. But my relationship with Veronica and Giuseppe did not stop at the creation of those wedding symbols.
One day it was Giuseppe who contacted me. He wanted to give Veronica a Engagement ring capable of deeply surprising her. He wasn't looking for just any piece of jewellery, but a Narrative Jewellery.
A unique story for an exclusive engagement ring
My method involves the client participating directly in the creative process, sharing the story they wish to transform into a piece of jewellery.
That is also how it happened with Giuseppe. In the first episode, he had recounted his first meetings with Veronica. In this second part, their story becomes more intense.
The deaf association had organised a Carnival party in Modena. I knew Veronica would be going, so I wanted to surprise her.
It's a shame that in the preceding days some photos posted on Facebook made her realise that I would be attending that demonstration too.
I was thrilled to meet her all the same. Surrounded by so many friends, we didn't get a chance to talk much. We kept texting each other until we decided to meet up again. This time just the two of us.
Verona, the city of love
Giuseppe is from Bari, Veronica used to live in Trento. For their meeting he decided to choose a city full of symbols: Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet.
A perfect setting for a story that was taking an increasingly clear direction.
I arrive at the airport and I'm a bit sad. Veronica had told me that it would be impossible for her to be there, inviting me to take a bus to get to the hotel where we would meet.
As soon as I left the terminal, I saw her. She had planned a good practical joke. We then took a taxi to the hotel.
In those days everything is magical. I am enchanted by her smile, we talk a lot, I realise that she could well be the woman of my life.
During the visit to Juliet's house I feel my heart beating extremely fast. It wasn't tachycardia. It was her closeness.
The value of a narrative jewel
Giuseppe wanted to give Veronica a ring that told their story. Not a precious object chosen from many, but a casket capable of holding memory.
