If you don't want to get confused between shop windows, ready-made models and commercial promises, before choosing an engagement ring it is useful to pause and ask yourself a few questions.<\/p>\n
An engagement ring is not just any purchase. It is a piece of jewellery destined to hold a promise, a milestone in life and, often, a story that will continue to be told over time.<\/p>\nAn engagement ring should stem from a conscious choice, not a simple window display selection.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
When you truly understand the possibilities involved in designing an engagement ring, endlessly wandering between shops and online windows risks doing little more than confusing your mind. In the end, you might choose just any piece of jewellery, not necessarily the one best suited to your story.<\/p>\n
In the industrial jewellery supply chain, the main option is to choose from models already selected by others. Sometimes these are recent collections, other times models that have been around for years. The point is that the scope of choice remains limited: you can choose from what already exists, not truly start from what you want to tell.<\/p>\n
Bespoke jewellery for a special occasion<\/h2>\n
Is the official marriage proposal just like any other moment, or is it meant to be something unique and unrepeatable?<\/p>\n
In my workshop I don't work on ready-made items. I work to commission, so every piece of jewellery is born from a design, a person and a specific story.<\/p>\n
If you are looking for an engagement ring, you have probably already realised that it is not just a matter of choosing \u201ca nice ring\u201d. Perhaps you have already felt that sense of banality looking at jewellery that all looks the same, on display in shop windows or offered online with generic descriptions.<\/p>\n
In these cases, my advice is to look at the engagement ring from another perspective: not just as a gift, but as a symbol. Not just as a precious object, but as the concrete form of a desire.<\/p>\n
Searching for something special is not always easy. When you are not a technician or well-informed, you often rely on the classic relationship of trust with the jeweller. But today, especially in the world of diamonds and fine jewellery, trust should be accompanied by method, documentation, transparency and clarity.<\/p>\n
Here are the five questions I advise you to bring before you start your engagement ring search.<\/p>\n
1. Do I want to be guided with transparency or follow a simple commercial practice?<\/h2>\nChoosing a significant ring requires method, comparison and clear documentation.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
You can choose a path where every step is explained, documented and shared, or you can follow a more commercial sales practice based on ready-made templates.<\/p>\n
When talking about a significant engagement ring, it is not just the emotion of the moment that counts. The guarantees, the quality of the materials, the coherence of the design, the solidity of the setting and the ability to understand what you are buying or commissioning also matter.<\/p>\n
A bespoke process makes it possible to clarify fundamental aspects prior to delivery: proportions, metal, gemstone, setting, thickness, comfort, maintenance and the documentation relating to the piece of jewellery.<\/p>\n
2. Do I want a commercial, custom or narrative ring?<\/h2>\nA bespoke piece of jewellery is born from the meeting of design, material and craftsmanship.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
A commercial engagement ring can be bought anywhere, even online. It may be beautiful, even precious, but it still stems from a pre-defined design.<\/p>\n
A bespoke ring instead starts from an idea, a suggestion, a shape, a stone or a specific desire. It allows the design to be adapted to the person who will wear it.<\/p>\n
A narrative engagement ring<\/strong> It goes beyond. It stems from the encounter between a story and my design and creation work. It doesn\u2019t just start from the form, but from the meaning that that form will hold.<\/p>\n
Through drawing, 3D design, the study of proportions and the choice of materials, the piece of jewellery becomes a creation tailored around a specific person.<\/p>\n
